Aaron is a Professor of English and has taught at Hawkeye Community College since 2002. He has also taught for DMACC and Wartburg College. A longtime resident of Cedar Falls, Iowa, he has also lived and worked in Bayonne, New Jersey, birthplace of George R.R. Martin, and San Diego, California, home of Dr. Seuss. Currently Aaron coordinates Middlemoot, the  Midwest’s premier biennial Tolkien conference, and is the co-editor of UKL, the only scholarly journal dedicated to the work of Ursula K. LeGuin. Aaron is also an accomplished musician, playing bass guitar in Cedar Valley bands for over 30 years and with the Nitpickers since 2016.

Nick has 20+ years of writing and editing experience in America, Tokyo, and Singapore. His writing has appeared in Kinfolk magazine, Scouting magazine, Wall Street Journal-Asia, Time Out Tokyo, etc. Most recently he was editor-in-chief of Tokyo Weekender magazine, Japan’s number one English-language lifestyle magazine. He lived the dream traveling across Japan and writing about it, until Covid put an end to that. In Japan, Nick wrote feature articles about Japan’s top diplomats, artists, actors, athletes, and business leaders. In America, Nick interviewed Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Kurt Vonnegut.
